Trading apps usually measure trades. We care just as much about lessons, because a trade without understanding is just a guess. Here is what our learning data shows after the first weeks of StockYatra's Academy: 57 courses, 117 lessons and 351 lesson videos in Nepali, English and Hindi.

What we learned

1. Beginners start with "how does this even work?"

The top course is not about strategy. It is about how NEPSE works. Three of the top five are about the plumbing: regulation, brokers and TMS, demat and Mero Share. People want to understand the system before they try to beat it.

2. Risk comes second, not last

Stop-Loss & Targets is the second most-finished course. Learners who practise on simulated money quickly discover why exits matter, and they go looking for the lesson.

3. Finishers are a dedicated group

130 people hold 357 certificates, an average of almost three each. Once someone finishes one course, they tend to finish the next.

Key idea: Certificates are a lagging signal. The leading one is the first completed lesson, so that is where we focus the first session.

What we are doing about it

  • Put NEPSE Basics and Stop-Loss front and centre for new members.
  • Ask Lumi to point to the right lesson when someone asks a beginner question.
  • Keep every lesson short, with a video in Nepali, English and Hindi.
  • Make certificates easy to share and verify, so finishing feels worth it.

Key takeaways

  • Beginners study how the market works before strategy.
  • Risk management is the second thing people finish.
  • One certificate leads to more.
  • Short videos in three languages carry much of the learning.
