Community Guidelines
How we keep the StockYatra learning community honest, safe and kind for everyone.
At a glance
- StockYatra is a place to learn trading in the open — with virtual money, not real trades.
- Be honest: never present simulated results as a real, real-money track record.
- Be respectful: no harassment, hate, scams, spam, hype, fake tips or personalised advice.
- Play fair on leaderboards and rewards — no bots, multi-accounting or bug exploits.
- Break these rules and we may warn, remove content, suspend or close your account.
1.Purpose & Who This Applies To
These Community Guidelines set the standard of behaviour we expect from everyone in the StockYatra community. They form part of, and must be read together with, our Terms of Use and Acceptable Use policies.
- 1.1StockYatra is an educational paper-trading simulator. The community exists so you can learn about markets, share ideas, and practise trading skill in good faith — without risking real money.
- 1.2These Guidelines apply to everything you do on the Service — the website, mobile apps, and any related feature — including posts, comments, profiles, usernames, messages, competition entries, and any content you share or transmit.
- 1.3"You" means any individual or entity that takes part in the community, whether or not registered. By taking part, you agree to follow these Guidelines.
2.Our Values
Three simple ideas hold this community together:
- 2.1Learn in the open. We are all here to get better. Ask questions, share what worked and what did not, and help others learn from your reasoning — not just your results.
- 2.2Honesty first. A learning community only works when people tell the truth — about their trades, their intentions, and the fact that everything here is simulated.
- 2.3Respect always. Treat every learner with courtesy, whatever their level, background or opinion. Disagree with ideas, never attack people.
3.Be Honest That It Is a Simulation
This is the most important rule in the community. StockYatra trades are simulated, using virtual money and simulated NEPSE prices — never real market execution.
- 3.1Never present StockYatra results, screenshots, statistics, rankings or portfolios as an actual, real-money trading record — to anyone, anywhere, on or off the platform.
- 3.2If you share your performance publicly, make it clear it comes from a simulation. Do not imply you made real profits, or that others will, by copying you.
- 3.3Do not use simulated results to promote a product, service, course, signal group or channel as if they were proof of real trading skill.
- 3.4Remember that prices here are simulated and may be delayed — they are not a live official feed from NEPSE, and virtual balances have no real-world monetary value. See our Risk Disclaimer.
4.Be Respectful
There is no place for cruelty in this community. You must not:
- 4.1Harass, bully, threaten, intimidate or demean any person, including:
- hate speech or slurs targeting anyone's race, ethnicity, religion, caste, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality;
- threats of violence, or content that encourages self-harm or harm to others;
- persistent unwanted contact, pile-ons, or coordinated targeting of an individual.
- 4.2Post content that is obscene, gratuitously violent, or otherwise designed to shock, degrade or offend other learners.
- 4.3Disrupt discussions with trolling, deliberate provocation, or bad-faith argument intended to derail rather than inform.
5.No Spam, Scams or Unsolicited Self-Promotion
Keep the community useful. You must not:
- 5.1Post spam — repetitive, irrelevant or bulk messages, links, or comments.
- 5.2Run or promote scams of any kind, including phishing, fake giveaways, "double your money" schemes, or requests for deposits, fees or account details.
- 5.3Advertise, solicit or self-promote — products, services, paid groups, referral links, courses or channels — unless we have expressly permitted it in writing.
- 5.4Recruit members away from StockYatra into external trading, signal or investment schemes.
6.No Financial Misinformation or Coordinated Hype
Simulated or not, market manipulation tactics have no place here — and modelling them teaches bad habits. You must not:
- 6.1Spread false or misleading claims about markets, companies, prices or securities.
- 6.2Run, promote or take part in pump-and-dump schemes, coordinated hype, or any effort to distort sentiment around a symbol.
- 6.3Post fake tips, invented "insider" information, or guarantees of returns dressed up as fact.
- 6.4Coordinate with others to mislead the community or to influence rankings, competitions or any shared feature.
7.No Unlicensed or Personalised Investment Advice
StockYatra is educational. Nothing here is investment, financial, legal or tax advice, and no one in the community may pretend otherwise.
- 7.1Do not offer, solicit or provide personalised investment, financial, legal or tax advice to other users.
- 7.2Do not hold yourself out as a licensed adviser, broker, dealer or portfolio manager, or claim any regulatory licence you do not hold.
- 7.3You may share general educational ideas and explain your own reasoning, but always as learning — never as a recommendation for another person to act on.
8.No Impersonation
Be who you say you are. You must not:
- 8.1Impersonate StockYatra, Lacspace, our staff or moderators, or use our names, logos or branding in a way that suggests an official account or endorsement.
- 8.2Impersonate a broker, bank, regulator or exchange — including SEBON or NEPSE — or suggest any affiliation, licence or approval that does not exist.
- 8.3Impersonate any other person, use a misleading username or profile, or falsely claim credentials, titles or achievements.
9.Protect Privacy
Respect other people's personal information. You must not:
- 9.1Share, post or expose another person's private or identifying data — names, addresses, phone numbers, account details, images or documents — without their clear consent (no doxxing).
- 9.2Collect, harvest or store other users' personal data from the community for any purpose.
- 9.3Record, screenshot or repost private messages or conversations in a way that harms or exposes another person.
- 9.4For how we handle your own data, see our Privacy Policy.
10.Fair Play on Leaderboards, Competitions & Rewards
Rankings, competitions and rewards only mean something if everyone plays it straight. The following are prohibited:
- 10.1Gaining an unfair advantage on any ranking, competition, reward, coin or virtual-balance system, including:
- using bots, scripts or automation to trade, farm rewards or inflate activity;
- creating multiple or fake accounts to farm rewards, inflate rankings or evade limits;
- exploiting bugs, timing gaps or pricing errors to obtain balances, coins or rankings you were not meant to have;
- colluding with others to distort a leaderboard, competition or shared feature.
- 10.2Coins are an in-app educational currency with no monetary value — non-withdrawable and not redeemable for real money. Do not buy, sell or trade coins, accounts or rankings for real money or other value.
- 10.3We may reset any virtual balances, coins, rankings or rewards obtained in breach of these Guidelines, and disqualify entries from any competition.
11.Keep It Legal & Age-Appropriate
- 11.1Do not post, link to or promote anything unlawful, or that infringes another person's rights, including intellectual-property rights — see our Copyright & IP policy.
- 11.2Keep content suitable for a general audience learning about markets. No sexual, adult, or otherwise age-inappropriate material.
- 11.3You must meet the minimum age and eligibility requirements set out in our Terms of Use to take part in the community.
12.Reporting Problems
- 12.1If you see content or behaviour that breaks these Guidelines, report it to abuse@stockyatra.com with enough detail — links, usernames, screenshots — for us to investigate.
- 12.2Report scams, threats or anything that puts a person at risk promptly. We investigate reports in good faith but cannot guarantee any particular outcome or timeframe.
- 12.3Do not misuse the reporting system to harass others with false or repeated bad-faith reports.
13.Moderation & Enforcement
Where we reasonably believe you have breached these Guidelines, our Acceptable Use policy or our Terms of Use, we may take any of the following steps, proportionate to the breach:
- 13.1Enforcement actions include, without limitation:
- issuing a warning;
- editing, removing or restricting content;
- resetting virtual balances, coins, rankings or rewards obtained in breach;
- limiting access to community features;
- temporarily suspending your account;
- permanently terminating your account and access;
- reporting the matter to law-enforcement or regulators where required.
- 13.2We may act immediately and without prior notice where a breach is serious, unlawful, or poses a risk to the Service or to other people.
- 13.3We are not liable to you for any loss of virtual balances, coins, progress, rankings or content resulting from enforcement action taken under these Guidelines.
14.Appeals
- 14.1If you believe we have taken action against you in error, you may appeal by writing to abuse@stockyatra.com within a reasonable time, explaining why the action should be reconsidered.
- 14.2We will review appeals in good faith and let you know the outcome. Our decision on an appeal is final. For unresolved disputes, see our Grievance & Dispute Resolution process.
15.Changes to These Guidelines
- 15.1We may update these Guidelines from time to time. The current version is always the one published at stockyatra.com/legal/community-guidelines, and the effective date at the top reflects the latest revision.
- 15.2Material changes will be notified through the Service or by other reasonable means. Continued participation after a change means you accept the updated Guidelines.
