Frequently asked questions

How much money do I need to apply for an IPO in Nepal?

For an ordinary IPO the price is usually Rs. 100 per unit and the minimum application is 10 units — so about Rs. 1,000. The money is blocked (via ASBA), not spent, until allotment; if you don’t get shares it is unblocked in full.

Can I apply for the same IPO more than once?

No. Each person can submit only one valid application per issue, using one Demat/BOID. Multiple applications for the same issue are rejected.

What is ASBA?

ASBA (Applications Supported by Blocked Amount) means your application money stays in your own bank account, simply blocked, until allotment. You keep earning any interest and only lose the amount if and when shares are allotted to you.

What is a CRN number?

CRN (Customer Reference Number) is a code your ASBA bank gives you to authorise IPO applications through Meroshare. You enter it when applying.

Can I edit or delete my IPO application?

Yes — while the issue is still open you can edit or delete a submitted application in Meroshare before the closing date.
