Learn algo trading FAQ
Can I learn algo trading for free?
Yes. In the StockYatra app you practise on virtual coins: 41 prebuilt strategies with honest backtests, a no-code rule builder and a Pine Script editor, with live NEPSE, NSE and US prices. No real money is involved.
Do I need to know coding?
No. Levels 1, 2 and 4 need no code, and the rule builder writes rules for you. Level 3 introduces Pine Script gently, starting from ready scripts you can copy.
Is there an algo trading course?
An Algo trading course in the Academy is rolling out, alongside free guides on this site. The app's Academy already has short lessons and quizzes on charts, indicators and risk in English, Nepali and Hindi.
Can StockYatra run my strategy automatically?
Not yet. Today you build and backtest rules and place orders yourself on virtual coins. Automatic paper-trading bots are on our roadmap.
Will this make me profitable?
No one can promise that. The goal is skill: writing clear rules, testing them honestly and controlling risk. Practising on virtual coins lets you make the expensive mistakes for free.
