Acceptable Use Policy
The rules that keep StockYatra fair, safe and honest for everyone who learns here.
At a glance
- Use StockYatra to learn and practise — lawfully and in good faith.
- No cheating the simulation, abusing other learners, or scraping the platform.
- Never pass off simulated results as real trading performance.
- Break these rules and we may warn, suspend or permanently close your account.
1.Purpose of This Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP") sets out what you may and may not do on StockYatra. It forms part of, and must be read together with, our Terms of Use.
- 1.1StockYatra is an educational paper-trading simulator. It exists so you can build trading skill without risking real money. This AUP protects that purpose and the community that relies on it.
- 1.2By accessing or using StockYatra — the website, mobile apps, and any related service (together, the "Service") — you agree to this AUP. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
- 1.3"You" means any individual or entity that accesses the Service, whether or not registered.
2.Permitted Use
- 2.1You may use the Service to learn about markets, practise trading strategies on simulated NEPSE data, track a virtual portfolio, read our educational content, and take part in the community in good faith.
- 2.2You may use the Service only for lawful, personal, non-commercial learning, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
3.Integrity of the Simulation
The simulation only has value if everyone plays it straight. The following are prohibited:
- 3.1Manipulating, exploiting or attempting to game the virtual-money, coin, ranking, reward or leaderboard systems, including:
- using bugs, timing gaps or pricing errors to gain virtual balances you were not meant to have;
- creating multiple or fake accounts to farm rewards, inflate rankings, or evade limits;
- automating trades or interactions with bots, scripts or other non-human means.
- 3.2Misrepresenting simulated performance as real. You must never present StockYatra results, screenshots or statistics as an actual, real-money trading record — to anyone, anywhere.
- 3.3Coordinating with others to distort rankings, competitions or any shared feature.
4.Prohibited Conduct
You must not, and must not permit anyone else to:
- 4.1Break any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right while using the Service.
- 4.2Post, share or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, obscene, misleading, or that promotes financial fraud, pump-and-dump schemes, or unlicensed investment advice.
- 4.3Impersonate any person or organisation, including StockYatra, Lacspace, SEBON, NEPSE, a broker, or any public figure.
- 4.4Offer, solicit or provide personalised investment, financial, legal or tax advice to other users, or hold yourself out as a licensed adviser or broker.
- 4.5Upload or link to malware, or attempt to interfere with, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the Service, its servers, or any user's account or data.
- 4.6Probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach or circumvent any security or authentication measure, except under our published responsible-disclosure process.
- 4.7Scrape, harvest, crawl, cache or bulk-download any part of the Service or its data except as expressly permitted, or use it to build a competing product or dataset.
- 4.8Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the Service, except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly permits.
- 4.9Resell, sublicense, rent or commercially exploit the Service or any content without our prior written consent.
5.Content You Submit
- 5.1You are responsible for anything you post, upload or share through the Service, and you must have the right to share it.
- 5.2We may remove, restrict or refuse any content that breaches this AUP or the Terms, without notice, and may report unlawful content to the authorities.
6.Automated Access & Rate Limits
- 6.1We may apply rate limits and technical controls to protect the Service. You must not attempt to bypass them.
- 6.2Access by automated means — bots, scrapers, headless browsers — is prohibited unless we grant written permission or publish an API for that purpose.
7.Reporting Violations
- 7.1If you see conduct that breaks this AUP, report it to abuse@stockyatra.com with enough detail for us to investigate.
- 7.2We investigate reports in good faith but do not guarantee any particular outcome or timeframe.
8.Enforcement
Where we reasonably believe you have breached this AUP, we may take any of the following steps, proportionate to the breach:
- 8.1Enforcement actions include, without limitation:
- issuing a warning;
- removing or restricting content or features;
- resetting virtual balances, coins or rankings obtained in breach;
- temporarily suspending your account;
- permanently terminating your account and access;
- reporting the matter to law-enforcement or regulators where required.
- 8.2We may act immediately and without prior notice where a breach is serious, unlawful, or poses a risk to the Service or other users.
- 8.3We are not liable to you for any loss of virtual balances, progress, rankings or content resulting from enforcement action taken under this AUP.
9.Changes to This Policy
- 9.1We may update this AUP from time to time. The current version is always the one published at stockyatra.com/legal/acceptable-use, and the effective date at the top reflects the latest revision.
- 9.2Material changes will be notified through the Service or by other reasonable means. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated AUP.
