Meroshare problems and how to fix them
Most Meroshare problems come down to five things: the wrong DP, an expired account, a CRN/bank issue, money not in the account, or WACC not done before EDIS. Find your symptom below.
Login & account
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Invalid credentials | Select the exact DP that opened your demat; confirm your username with the DP. Login guide. |
| Password expired / forgot | Set a new one when prompted or use 'Forgot your password?' on the login page. |
| Account expired | Renew online or at your DP. |
| Reset email never arrives | Your registered email is old — ask your DP to update it. |
IPO applications
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| IPO not showing in 'Apply for Issue' | It may not be open yet, already applied, reserved for another group (e.g. locals or foreign-employment quota), or your Meroshare has expired. Check dates on the IPO calendar. |
| Bank not in the drop-down | Your bank account isn't linked/C-ASBA registered. Get a CRN from the bank and ask the DP/bank to link it. |
| Rejected / unverified | Insufficient balance, wrong CRN, dormant account or name mismatch. Fix and reapply while the issue is open — how. |
| CRN invalid | CRNs can stop working if the account goes dormant, you change branch, or the bank changes systems. Ask the bank for C-ASBA re-registration. |
| Applied twice by mistake | Only one application per person per issue is valid; delete the duplicate while the issue is open. |
Selling & EDIS
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Shares not listed in My EDIS | Calculate WACC in My Purchase Source first; wait until the sale shows (same day); check the shares aren't pledged/frozen. |
| WACC rate missing for a lot | Enter the purchase rate shown in your broker's contract note (bonus/right lots have their own cost rules — see WACC calculator). |
| Missed the EDIS deadline | Call your broker immediately. If delivery fails, the trade is closed out with a fine — see EDIS guide. |
Who to contact
- Your DP — login, username, email, PIN, account linking, renewal.
- Your bank — CRN, C-ASBA registration, blocked/unblocked amounts.
- Your broker — trades, contract notes, EDIS deadlines, close-out.
- CDSC — system-wide outages (check cdsc.com.np notices).
Frequently asked questions
Meroshare is not working — is it down?
Meroshare slows down on the last day of popular IPOs. Try again later or outside peak hours, and check CDSC's notices for maintenance.
Why is my bank not showing when applying for IPO?
The bank account isn't linked to your BOID through C-ASBA. Get a CRN from the bank and make sure it's linked in Meroshare.
My IPO money is still blocked — why?
Amounts stay blocked until allotment finishes. After the result, unallotted amounts are released; if it's still blocked days later, contact your bank.
