Edit or cancel an IPO application in Meroshare
As long as the issue is still open, you can change or withdraw your application in Meroshare. After the closing date, nothing can be changed — so check before the last day.
How to edit or delete
- 1
Log in and open My ASBA
From the left menu, open My ASBA.
- 2
Find the application
Open the tab that lists your applications for open issues (the Application Report / current issue list). Click the issue.
- 3
Choose Edit or Delete
While the issue is open you'll see options to edit or delete. Edit lets you change applied kitta or bank details; Delete withdraws the application.
- 4
Confirm with your PIN
Accept the declaration and enter your transaction PIN to save the change.
- 5
Check the status
Re-open the application report after a while. The bank re-verifies the changed application and adjusts the blocked amount.
Application rejected? Reapply
If your bank couldn't block the amount — not enough balance, wrong CRN, inactive/dormant account, name mismatch — the application shows as rejected/unverified. Fix the cause (deposit money, update CRN with your bank) and use the reapply option shown for that application in My ASBA, while the issue is still open.
- Keep the full amount in your account until allotment — the money is blocked, not deducted.
- A dormant account (no activity for months) can invalidate your CRN; ask the bank to re-register C-ASBA.
- You can't fix a rejected application after the issue closes — the next chance is the next issue.
What happens to the blocked money?
Delete the application and the bank releases the block. If you edit to fewer kitta, the extra is released. After allotment, any amount for shares you didn't get is unblocked automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Can I cancel an IPO application after it closes?
No. Edits and withdrawals are only possible while the issue is open.
Does applying for more kitta improve my chance?
Usually not. When an issue is heavily oversubscribed, lucky applicants get 10 kitta each by lottery regardless of how many they applied for. See how allotment works.
Why was my IPO application rejected?
Most often: insufficient balance, wrong or expired CRN, dormant bank account, or name mismatch between bank and demat. Fix it and reapply while the issue is open.
