How WACC works
Example: 10 IPO kitta at Rs 100 (Rs 1,000) + 50 kitta bought at Rs 520 (with charges) + 6 bonus kitta → total cost ÷ 66 kitta. The calculator above shows the exact figure.
- Bought on NEPSE: price + commission + SEBON fee + DP charge.
- IPO/FPO: the issue price you paid.
- Right shares: the subscription price (usually Rs 100).
- Bonus shares: Meroshare applies its own cost rule — commonly shown as Rs 100 (face value). We couldn't confirm an official rule, so check your Purchase Source.
Frequently asked questions
What is WACC in share market Nepal?
Weighted average cost per share, including buying charges. Capital gains tax is calculated on the sell amount (after fees) minus WACC × quantity.
Does WACC include broker commission?
Yes — for shares bought on NEPSE it includes commission, the SEBON fee and the DP charge.
Why does Meroshare ask me to calculate WACC?
So the correct cost and holding period are used for capital gains tax when you transfer sold shares with EDIS.
