Regulatory & Compliance
Exactly what StockYatra is, what it is not, and where we stand with financial regulators.

What StockYatra is
StockYatra is a paper-trading and financial-literacy product operated by Lacspace. It lets learners practise buying and selling using a virtual balance of in-app coins, on prices that track real markets, so they can build trading discipline without risking real money.
What StockYatra is not
- We are not a stockbroker, dealer, sub-broker or trading member of any exchange.
- We are not a stock exchange, clearing house or depository.
- We are not a registered investment adviser, research analyst, portfolio manager or wealth manager.
- We do not hold, custody or manage client funds or securities.
- We do not place, route or execute orders in real securities on any exchange.
- We do not offer, solicit or facilitate the purchase or sale of any real financial instrument.
Not investment advice
Nothing on StockYatra — including prices, charts, lists of gainers and losers, articles, courses, tools or the daily market wrap — is investment, financial, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security. Content is provided for education and general information only. Always consult a licensed adviser registered in your own jurisdiction before making real investment decisions.
Our regulatory position
Because StockYatra does not deal in real securities, hold client money, or provide personalised advice, it does not require registration as a broker or investment adviser. In particular:
- StockYatra is not registered with, licensed by, or endorsed by the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) or the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE).
- StockYatra is not registered with, licensed by, or endorsed by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the NSE or the BSE.
- StockYatra is not affiliated with any securities regulator, exchange, depository or listed company anywhere in the world.
If your local law treats a paper-trading simulator differently, your local law governs your use of the service.
Virtual coins are not money or securities
In-app coins are a virtual currency used only to paper-trade and to unlock learning content. Coins have no monetary value, are not legal tender, are not a deposit, security, e-money or financial instrument, cannot be withdrawn, and cannot be converted or redeemed for real currency. Any optional coin purchase buys access to educational features only. See our Refund Policy and Risk Disclaimer.
Market data
Market data is sourced from third-party and public feeds and is provided for educational purposes only. It may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate and must not be relied upon for real trading decisions. Exchange and index names are trademarks of their respective owners.
Eligibility
StockYatra is intended for users aged 18 and over. It is offered as an educational tool and may not be available, or may be restricted, in certain jurisdictions. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with the laws that apply to you.
Anti-fraud & honesty
We never promise profits, guaranteed returns, or "sure-shot" tips. Simulated performance does not indicate real results. Any communication claiming guaranteed returns in StockYatra's name is not from us — please report it via our contact page.
Questions
For compliance or regulatory questions, contact us through the contact page and we will respond as promptly as we can.
